Narayana to be Capital Region Development Authority chief
The municipal administration and urban development minister (MA&UD) P Narayana would be elevated as chairman, AP Capital Region Development Authority (APCRDA) shortly.
In the changed political scenario, Mr Narayana’sposition will be confined to APCRDA only, as the party national president N. Chandrababu Naiduis reportedly experiencing pressure from Nellore TD leaders and cadres, over the continuance of Mr Narayana in the Cabinet.
However, keeping in view the loyal services being rendered by Mr Narayana to party in crucial times, the party president wants to place him in a high esteemed position. Hence, the CM wants to give away the post, which now he is holding to Mr Narayana.
In fact, political equations within the TD and the Cabinet will change shortly, according to sources. A few TD leaders working against the interests of Narayana have been campaigning that Mr Narayana will be elevated as chairman. APCRDA, which is as good as Cabinet rank, and a key man from Nellore TD will be picked up for the Cabinet position in the possible reshuffle shortly.
“Our national general secretary Nara Lokesh will be inducted into the Cabinet shortly and at the same time. Mr Narayana will be given the position of chairman. CRDA.” a senior TD leader said.
Three groups in Nellore TD – Anam Ramnarayan Reddy, Adala Prabhakar Reddy and Somireddy Chandra Mohan Reddy groups – are reportedly against the continuance of Mr.Narayana in the Cabinet as he was not in a position to bring in coordination within the party in Nellore district.
However, Mr Chandr. ababu Naidu wants Mr Narayana’s services and hence he has taken a decision to elevate Mr Nara-yana as APCRDA chairman, which is of cabinet rank. However, TD cadres are not sure about Mr Narayana’s continuance as a cabinet minister.
